Unique Wedding Photos

Where are they now? We love the opportunity that Key West affords our bride and groom for unique photo opportunities. Anna and Daniel really took advantage of the character of the island and we can’t wait to share more of their phenomenal pictures from their big day. Ranging from traditional, romantic, and stunning to playful, unexpected, and ultimately cool, you’ll love what you see.  Figured it out yet? It’s the famous “Giant Ballroom Dancers” depicting Renoir’s Dancing in the City at the entrance to the Key West Art and History Museum, commonly known as the Old Post Office and Customs House.  Contact us to help make your destination wedding vision come true. Wedding Reception ~ Custom Dance Floor

Your wedding reception ~ what will guests remember? Besides the beautiful couple, of course, dinner and dancing are at the top of the list. The dance floor is a perfect spot to do a little custom work. Add to the elegance of that first dance with a unique design of your own. You can go as all out or simple as you wish. Our couple, Anna & Daniel added a hand-painted floral motif. If you’re location doesn’t allow for customization, gobo projection lighting, or monogram lighting,  is a great temporary alternative. Gobo companies can create designs i.e. flowers, stars, etc. to fit within your reception theme. Personalizing your dance floor with custom decals is another way to go. You can usually find them on etsy.com. It’s a great way to save money and add that special detail to your reception. On a tight budget? Build your own! With a trip to the…

Step and Repeat aka “Red Carpet Wedding Backdrop”

We love the idea of giving your destination wedding that “red carpet event” feeling ~ and nothing says special like a “step and repeat.” A what? A step and repeat is a banner with your custom wedding monogram, theme logo, hashtag, wedding date, or your favorite things ~ it’s really anything you want it to be. Guests step in front of the backdrop and get their photo taken and the next guest “repeats” the process. It’s a great way to make your guests feel fabulously welcomed and comfortable getting their picture taken. In a destination wedding they can be used in a more casual environment at the “welcome party” and then again at the reception. On a budget? You can use vinyl material and local printer to print your logo on it. Use PVC pipe to drape the fabric and forgo the red carpet or try finding a sample. Say…

Tips for the Perfect Wedding Welcome Bag

Chances are your destination wedding is a mini-vacation for your guests and you may not be able to greet all of them when they arrive.  A great way to say “we’re so happy you’re here” is with a custom bag full of goodies! the Want to do the same? Start with a great bag – some kind of carryall that guests will be able to re-use while sightseeing or at the beach. We like canvas which is easily personalized and it’s great after the wedding too ~ a nice (collapsible) keepsake. the Must have items we recommend are: Advil/Tylenol/Aleve (whichever you prefer) a bottle of water sunscreen something savory and sweet (we love sourcing these items from local places at your destination) a map a list that includes the ceremony and reception location and times along with a list of any group activities you have planned. It’s also a great…

Champagne? Yes, please! A Unique Welcome for Your Guests

Welcoming your guests to your reception with champagne makes guests feel special. We love the idea of this elegant, personal touch and suggest a greeter to ensure your guests see the flutes. Using a table isn’t always effective because once your guests are seated they may not have noticed them. At Daniel and Anna’s wedding, guests were wowed by a champagne skirt presentation! This unique alternative serves not only as a fantastic conversation piece but is a great way to circulate the cocktails. Cheers! We used Jeannette Piecznski and her store on etsy is Lone Star Genealogy.

Love Wins! Love Equal Across the Nation

“Our nation was founded on a bedrock principle, that we are all created equal. The project of each generation is to bridge those founding words with the reality of changing times. Progress on this journey often comes in small increments. Sometimes two steps forward, one step back. And then sometimes there are days like this when that slow, steady effort leads to justice that arrives like a thunderbolt.” ~ President Obama Swivel Group Events has always been a proud supporter of gay marriage. We celebrate this historic day in our nation for equality ~ no longer known as gay marriage but just “marriage.” #LoveisLove

Hashtag Wedding Tips

We are obsessed with the recent wedding trend of hashtags. Your guests are going to share those candid wedding weekend moments on social media, so why not capture that perspective with your own hashtag? It’s a simple, fun way for a bride and groom to document their wedding. It’s not too complicated to come up with your own hashtag but remember, it’s more than just typing in the pound sign. Start with your Names ~ try different combinations of your first, last, and/or nicknames. This will make it easy for your guests to remember which is the key! You want your guests to actually use it. Use Numbers or Location ~ to set your hashtag apart. There might be more than one #TonyandAmy but only one #TonyandAmy62715. In our featured photo, our couple Krista and Al came up with the perfect short, simple hashtag using location “KristAlKeys.” Use a “Wedding” word ~…
